Are you ready to start your own journey towards a purpose-driven life?
I hope this series has inspired you to give some serious thought to your own personal why, your purpose, and your passion. We started out looking at what it means to find your “why”. What exactly is it to look for your purpose or calling. I hope the list of examples of what your “why” may look like was helpful and inspiring.
We explored why it is important to not only look for your personal “why”, but also start living your life with a purpose. Anytime you get frustrated on this journey and aren’t sure why you’re doing what you’re doing, revisit chapter two. Seeing the impact living with a purpose can have on your life is all it takes to push harder, go further, and make your dreams happen.
We wrapped things up with a simple five step exercise designed to help you find your very own why and help you start your journey towards a purpose driven life. Here’s a quick recap of the steps:
- Step 1 – Figure Out Who You Are And What You’re Good At
You need to figure out who you are and what you can do before you can discover your purpose.
- Step 2 – Find Out Who You Can Help With Your Unique Skill Set
Next you need to determine who you can help the most. Where can you make a difference?
- Step 3 – Determine The Best Way To Help Your Target Audience
Once you know who you’re going to help and serve, it’s time for a little research to figure out exactly what it is they need and how you can reach them best.
- Step 4 – Coming Up With A Plan To Implement
Next you need a plan to guide you on your path towards realizing your purpose. Break it down into small steps and work away one goal at a time.
- Step 5 - Realize It’s A Journey
Finding your purpose and living a life dedicated to that purpose isn’t something that’s going to happen overnight. This is a journey and like any trip there will be bumps in the road and detours ahead. The key is to realize that and enjoy the ride.
The rest is up to you. Nothing is going to change until you make the decision to change, embrace your “why”, and get to work. That’s your first step now that you’ve made it to the end of this report.
Once you make that decision and figure out what it is you want to do with your life, that’s when the real change and the real fun starts. It’s exciting to work on building something that you support 100%. You won’t mind hard work and long hours because you are making a difference. Be ready for a rewarding and sometimes exhausting experience. In the end, it will be well worth it.
Keep reminding yourself of why you are doing this. Write it down and hang it up on your wall. Condense your “Why” into just a few sentences or a collage of pictures and keep it front and center. It will be a powerful reminder of why you do what you do and will keep you on course towards your end goal.
There is no greater happiness than the satisfaction of a life lived well and doing everything you can to help those around you. Don’t be surprised to find that you get just as much if not more back in return.
We started this book with a quote, I’d like to leave you with another powerful one:
"The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others."
Dr. Albert Schweitzer
And, above all, remember that I BELIEVE IN YOU! Now, go conquer the world!
