Realize It’s A Journey
Last but not least you need to realize that this is a journey and as such, it will take time. It will take a while to get from point A to point B. You’re starting with your “why”; what your purpose in life is. The end goal is to fulfill that purpose to its biggest potential. That’s not something that will happen overnight. Instead, it’s a process that takes time, particularly if your “why” is big. It should take the rest of your life.
And that’s ok. What counts is that you are making progress and moving forward on this journey each day. Once you find your true purpose, this isn’t going to be an issue. You’ll be waking up in the morning thinking about the various things you can do today to move forward. It will drive you and move you forward, as each day you will be excited to fulfill it.
Don’t get discouraged when things don’t move as quickly as you’d like. Maybe there’s red tape you have to wade through. Maybe opportunities you counted on fall apart. Or, divine timing may be a factor. Whatever it is; that’s life. Don’t let it discourage you or bring you down. Keep your eye on the prize and when life throws obstacles your way, figure out how to get around them.
And sometimes even the best plans change. You might shift focus, or you realize that you were dreaming too big, or not big enough. Plans are great, but they are not written in stone. Finding your why and living your life with purpose is a journey. Sometimes things will go as planned and sometimes plans change. And that’s ok. Stay true to your purpose and be flexible with how you get there. Sometimes changes are necessary, but other times they are distractions that keep us from reaching our goals. It’s up to you and your own best judgment to decide what’s what.
And sometimes we take a wrong turn. That’s part of life too. When that happens back track and choose a different path when you realize the road you’re currently on isn’t taking you towards your end goal.
Don’t let those times discourage you from your “why”. If you end up going down the wrong path, STOP and get back on. No condemnation - just make the adjustments, work around obstacles that seem too hard to overcome and realize that better, happier days are ahead.Yes, finding and fulfilling your purpose will bring you joy and happiness. But don’t expect this journey to be all sunshine and roses. Some days will be hard, sometimes you’ll feel like giving up. I’m not promising this is going to be an easy ride. But what I can tell you is that it is well worth it in the end. There will be wonderful and rewarding days that will make all the blood, sweat, tears and effort worthwhile.
I know you can do it - I believe in you!
