Many people think that they have to rely on themselves to stay motivated when striving to reach new goals. This is actually not true and there are many motivational tools that you can use to make reaching goals much easier.
For 2018, like every other new year, we purpose to make changes in our lives. Because I, too, make goals and visions for the upcoming year, I am sharing with you some of the most popular motivational tools I found to help you stay motivated to reach yours. Simple things like using journals, online calendars and planners can really help you stay on track and achieve your goals.
A journal can really help you plan out your steps to reach your goal. Most people know this, and many use these methods. Many people start off by using a weekly journal and then switching to a daily one. I find that journaling daily helps me as it keeps my goals fresh in my mind and it also acts as a reference in case the situation happens to come up again.
It is great that calendars and planners in all forms are available online. This is one of the best reasons for being online; to utilize the free benefits! You can even download apps to your phone, iPad, tablet or other mobile device(s). This makes sure you can access your planner regardless of your location. And, the key is, once you download them, you have to use them (smile).
There are even apps that allow you to share your progress on social media like Facebook and Twitter. You can even challenge your friends and family to friendly competitions. The more progressive insurance companies offer free apps to track your health progress. All of these help you set and achieve weekly goals, by incorporating a little bit of fun into them.
What motivational tool you use will depend upon your goal and your personality. You may enjoy writing and are automatically drawn to using a blog to stay motivated. Many people don’t think of this, but blogging can be very helpful – to you and others. If you were to daily track your steps toward a goal, other who read it will be motivated daily to do the same and support you along the way. If you are more of a private person, you may prefer the idea of using a planner or app for motivation. The good thing is that you don’t necessarily have to make any of your writing or blogs public. You can always make all or a portion of them private and share with people you choose.
Another idea is to record videos or audios if this is something that appeals to you. You can record a video about your goals, achievements and ups and downs, then share with others. I used video to share about a breakthrough I had using a bar of soap and it got over 20,000 hits! If you want to know more about that soap, go to Youtube, KarendeniseakaGiggy. I guarantee it will make you smile! But, back to your videos – remember, you can also make them private or public.
As I end this blog, I’ll mention a couple of other motivational tools. Listening to and watching motivational messages. You can save videos or audio messages to take with you and listen to them while driving.
I love watching motivational videos while soaking in the tub. It seems it gets in me deeper when I am most relaxed. Take quotes from the teachings and post them on your mirror or fridge so you can read them every day. Quotes are good for reinforcing your goals and abilities on a daily basis, so don’t overlook using them. Take all or some of these tips toward your goals for 2018 and advance toward your purpose!
I believe in you!
